Biodiversity of Olive Groves

Even the smallest efforts toward its preservation are valuable. This small park, rich in both cultural and natural significance, is home to several well-known native olive varieties, along with two newly discovered ones unique to the wider region.

In addition to olives, the park hosts a variety of Mediterranean plants and wildflowers that attract numerous insects, reptiles, rodents, birds, and mammals. Traditionally, olive groves were never monocultures, and maintaining biodiversity helps protect olive trees from diseases and pests. Look around, listen—you might spot some of the park’s inhabitants!
